The Commissioning Ceremony of HMS Queen Elizabeth

The Commissioning Ceremony of HMS Queen Elizabeth
Today Her Majesty The Queen visited Portsmouth for the Commissioning Ceremony of HMS Queen Elizabeth โ€“ the largest warship ever built for the Royal Navy.

The 65,000 ton HMS Queen Elizabeth is the first of a new class of aircraft carriers constructed for Her Majesty's fleet. Over 10,000 people, in six shipyards across the UK, were involved in the building of the vessel.

Today The Queen was also accompanied by Commodore-in-Chief of HMNB Portsmouth, The Princess Royal.

The older Queen Elizabeth gets the happier she seems to be. She is never without a smile during all the duties she still performs as Queen. She is very inspiring. ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

The Senior Service at its best! Shame the powers that be are letting the Defence budget keep getting slashed, we could do with a strong Navy, History teaches that every time we run it down, we get punished. When will they ever learn? Lets hope its not too late.

Love Her Majesty in that purple outfit! And she has such a 100-watt smile! She represents Great Britain so much better than the person we have representing our country.

Looking radiant Ma am and I'm sure it's a lovely ship. However, we'd better bring back automatic conscription if we are to have it manned by the time it's fully operational heh!

What a wonderful day for both the HM Queen Elizabeth and HMS Queen Elizabeth during a generally dismal Thursday.
Long may they both continue to serve our nation with grace and majesty.

I really don't know how she does it. Every day another ceremony or presentation of some kind and she still keeps going. God save our Queen.
